Newport Rugby Club will be running a regular colts side during the forthcoming 2011/12 season. Colts Rugby at Newport is designed to provide a solid foundation and development programme for players making the transition from U 17’s junior rugby through to the senior game. Our colts coaching team headed up by John Das Gupta have a broad depth of rugby knowledge gained from both playing the game and coaching players at both junior and senior level. John Das Gupta has an RFU level 2 coaching qualification and is currently working to his level 3 qualification. The club has a structured programme that is designed to improve player’s core skills, fitness and technical ability. Newport Colts will be playing in the North Midlands Sunday league during the forthcoming season and training will commence on Tuesday 5th July 2011 with our first fixtures due to commence at the beginning of September.

Any player who is under the age of 19 on 1st September 2011 who would like to join our team for the new season is welcome to contact one of the undersigned or turn up for training at the club’s Forton Road ground on Tuesday 5th July 2011.
